Hello, I’m Dr. Joy Bozzo

Picture
I am a licensed naturopathic doctor committed to supporting children and their families through a biomedical, holistic, and integrative medical approach. I specialize in helping children and teens with neurodevelopmental, behavioral, and complex health challenges to restore balance in their bodies and feel hopeful in their journey.

My practice focuses on identifying the underlying causes of the symptoms that are often overlooked in conventional medicine. Through thoughtful investigation, advanced testing, and personalized treatment plans, I help uncover the biological drivers behind challenges such as autism, ADHD, PANS/PANDAS, emotional dysregulation, digestive issues, and immune dysfunction.

I work closely and collaboratively with families to develop clear individualized care plans, providing practical tools and targeted support. Together, in a supportive partnership, our shared goal will be to help your child feel better in their body, mind, and spirit so they can navigate the world with more ease and well-being.

Often, when I hear from families for the first time, they share that they have “tried
everything,” pouring their hearts, time, energy, and resources into helping their child, only to face ongoing struggles without lasting relief or satisfying progress. They feel exhausted, heartbroken, and isolated in a season of crisis. You may know these feelings all too well if you've watched your child endure big emotions, intense behaviors, and overwhelm from their symptoms. As a parent, that helplessness can feel unbearable.
And though it is okay to feel weary, I want you to know that you are not alone.

Many of the families I work with have travelled a similar path before finding deeper, more lasting support.
This may look like:
• Traditional therapies such as ABA, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and
speech therapy provide important support but may not fully resolve symptoms when
underlying medical issues remain unaddressed.
• Trials of prescription medications like guanfacine, risperidone, sleep aids or SSRIs
that may offer partial relief but often do not address underlying biological drivers.
• Dietary interventions that become difficult to implement because of picky eating,
sensory sensitivities, or restrictive eating patterns.

Conditions like autism, PANS/PANDAS, ADHD and emotional dysregulation often involve complex interactions between the brain, immune system, gut, metabolism, and environment, requiring a more holistic, integrative approach to see health and harmony restored in the body in lasting ways. Addressing these systems in a comprehensive, dynamic way can open new possibilities for improvement.

If you are ready to exhale, feel heard, and find connection to safety and hope again, I'm so glad you're here, and I'd love to hear from you.

A personal note from Dr. Joy

“My passion for this work is personal. I’ve always been drawn to working with children, perhaps because I wanted to be truly seen and understood myself as a child. When I was five years old, something inside me shifted dramatically. My mother described it as if a light switch had been flipped. Suddenly, big emotions felt overwhelming, I faced chronic anxiety and irrational fears, and I struggled to regulate what felt like an internal storm. Looking back with the knowledge I have now, I recognize those symptoms were the result of undiagnosed PANS/PANDAS. I felt I was “difficult”, but what I truly needed was someone who could look beyond the behaviors and understand what my body was going through.

Today, as a doctor and mother of three beautiful children, I hold both perspectives: the sensitive heart of a child who felt unseen and the fierce protectiveness of a parent witnessing fear and helplessness in their own family. I’ve experienced firsthand how conventional paths can sometimes fall short for the communities I serve. That’s why I chose this path: to offer something more thoughtful, more thorough, and more hopeful.

I believe every child deserves to feel better and to experience genuine well-being. A different path toward healing and improved health is possible. If you’re seeking a supportive, root-cause-focused partnership for your child, I would be honored to walk alongside you.”

Testimonial:

“Dr. Joy has helped my daughters tremendously over the last year. We came to Dr. Joy with our 8-year-old, who was experiencing insomnia, wired but tired, moodiness, anxiety, and crying at school. She was overwhelmed, bloated and constipated. These symptoms were onset after two anesthesia surgeries just two months apart. We did testing per Dr. Joy’s help, and within 6 months of supplementation, we truly feel like we got our happy little girl back. I know we have made so much progress, and we can’t thank Dr. Joy enough for being a thoughtful and patient caregiver to her! Our second daughter experienced different challenges post-anesthesia for adenoid removal, which included a vocal tic/physical tic, unusual, angry outbursts, and pretty extreme picky eating. After testing and supplementation, after just three months, we can already see a huge improvement for her as well. Our family case involves mold exposure and gut imbalances. We can’t thank Dr. Joy enough for all of her expertise. I recommend her to all of my friends who have similar needs, who clearly need better care than we can receive through our primary Western doctors. As a mom, I feel so much better to have her care for my children!” - Jenny
